Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Minnesota Department of Human Services, through its Behavioral Health, Housing and Hard of Hearing Division (STATE), is seeking proposals from qualified Responders to Provide webinar based training on Youth Mental Health to hospital staff, school mental health professionals and/or caregivers. The state anticipates this to be webinar based training to reach all geographic areas in the state. The funding available need not be equally split among successful Responders. The State may, at its discretion, award funding to successful Responders based on a uniform base amount plus a per-capita amount proportional to the number of clients expected to be served by each successful Responder. Responders should include, in budget proposals, who the target audience is, estimated amounts for costs related to technology required, and subject matter expertise for the development of services. The state has recognized the need to enhance training for all hospital staff in generalized youth behavioral health and management of challenging behaviors. The state has also recognized the need to effectively train foster parents, parents and other caregivers regarding the behavioral health needs these youth have in the community. In addition, mental health professionals will enhance mental health services in educational settings. These trainings will educate participants on effectively working with youth who present with complex behavioral health presentations and require immediate interventions to maintain safety for themselves and others in school settings.
