Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Parks and Recreation Division (PRD) is seeking bids for tree and brush clearing at Lakelands Trail State Park. The work site is a linear trail on a former Railroad Right of Way located between Stockbridge at M52 (Ingham County) and Hawkins Road (Jackson County) approximately 12 miles. The goal of this project is to clear trees and brush 30’ wide and 14’ high (15’ from center of trail grade on both sides). All woody debris must be chipped and cleaned from the trail surface and left on site. Stump grinding will be required on tree stumps located on the surface of the trail grade. All stumps will be cut at a length not to exceed 5” height to facilitate future mowing of the trail with a ditch bank type mower. To limit regrowth, stumps greater than 4” DBH (diameter breast height) will be treated with herbicide.
