Specifications include, but are not limited to: Kent County owns approximately 175 acres of agriculture land in Alaska, Michigan (FSA #7455). Kent County wishes to enter into a Lease with a farmer or grower for a five-year period from 2018-2022. The agreement will consist of five (5) one-year renewable leases. Kent County will not unreasonably withhold lease renewals. Leases may not be renewed because of late payment or poor farming practices. Renewals, if offered, will be offered each year upon receipt of full payment for the then current year. The Tenant may raise row cops (such as vegetables), grain (such as corn, soybeans, wheat, barley, rye or oats) and/or hay, and nursery stock. The Tenant may either single crop or double crop the premise. All crops must be planted and harvested within the Lease Term. Only no-till or strip-till planting will be allowed.
