Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Division is seeking bids for control of common Buckthorn and honeysuckle within Gaylord Forest Management Unit Compartment 52, Jordan River Valley, in Charlevoix County, Michigan. The Jordan River and its tributaries are dedicated under the Natural Rivers Act as a Wild and Scenic River. There is a comprehensive management plan for the enhancement, control, and protection of the state forest lands within the valley. A goal in this plan is to manage the trees, shrubs, forbs, and grasses in order to maintain a vigorous biological community and to protect water quality. Management of common Buckthorn and honeysuckle in the area support achieving this goal. This project is intended to reduce the presence of common Buckthorn and honeysuckle by 80 % in the Treatment Area.
