Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Signs, Instruction Plates and Labels: The Rescue Box shall comply with the requirements for required signs, instruction plates and labels as required by the 2016 NFPA 1901 Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus. 2. Body Sub-Frame & Fasteners: The entire body sub-frame shall be fabricated from 6061-T6 aluminum (3”) 6061-T6 aluminum tubing and channel. The subframe shall be a self-supporting unit and be bolted to the chassis frame. Electrolysis Corrosion Kontrol (ECK) shall be applied between the chassis frame and sub-frame and between any other dissimilar metals. This frame system shall support the Rescue Box body and compartments. The sub-frame shall be positioned to provide a running board height of approximately 22” to 24” when fully loaded. All truss and hex head bolts used in the assembly of the sub-frame shall be hardened (grade 8) fasteners, zinc or cadmium-plated for corrosion resistance. The entire sub-frame must be designed in a manner so as not to entrap water and cause deterioration of the frame. The entire body and sub-frame shall be completely independent from the chassis frame and shall be designed to allow for removal in the event the chassis needs to be replaced. 3. Aluminum Diamond Plate Overlays and Trim: The front bulk heads of the body shall be overlaid with 3003-H22 bright finish aluminum diamond plate for body protection. The front exterior diamond plate shall wrap around the front corners of the Rescue Box body a minimum of one inch (1”) to provide additional front corner protection against paint and body damage. The entire rescue poly body roof shall be overlaid with embossed 3003-H22 bright finish aluminum diamond plate material. The aluminum diamond plate shall be provided with a bent overhanging edge to form a drip edge for the body and compartments. The back side of all 3003-H22 bright finish aluminum diamond plate overlays shall be treated with ECK to help prevent dielectric corrosion. 4. Rear Body Chevron: The entire rear bulkhead of the poly body shall be left smooth to provide a surface for the Chevron striping as specified later in these specifications. 5. Rear Tailboard: The aluminum rear sub-structure assembly shall support a twelve inch (12”) wide tail board. The tail board shall be fabricated from an extruded aluminum open grip step panel to allow full drainage of water from the platform. Tail boards that are supported off the rear of the body and not supported by the substructure are not acceptable
