Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Provide new access control system consisting of all required equipment, conduit, boxes, wiring, connectors, hardware, supports, accessories, software, system programming, etc.,. as necessary for a complete operating system that provides functional intent indicated. B. System Battery Backup: Batteries are to be provided with the racks. C. Surge Protection: 1. Provide surge protection for readers and door strikes/locks. D. Interface with Other Systems: 1. Provide products compatible with other systems requiring interface with access control system. 2. Interface with electrically operated door hardware as specified. a. Capable of locking/unlocking/releasing controlled doors. b. Capable of receiving input from integral door hardware switches. E. Provide products listed, classified, and labeled as suitable for the purpose intended. 1. Access Control Units and Readers: Listed and labeled as complying with UL 294. 2. Provide complete permanent system of cabling and equipment for Access Control System, including cables, conduits and wireways, pull wires, support structures, enclosures, cabinets, hardware including communications, monitoring and alarm output. 3. Include labor, materials, equipment, services and similar items to furnish complete and functional Security Access System. 4. Materials and equipment: New and listed for intended purpose. 5. Installation and Support a. Provide initial setup and programming at time of installation to ensure proper system operation. b. Provide documentation covering installation, operation, and maintenance of system components. c. Contractor shall provide 120 VAC power to point of installation for each system component that requires AC power. 6. System Description a. System Overview 1) Microprocessor controlled interconnected grouping of components consisting of but not limited to: Access Control Units (ACUs), access control software, readers, cards, door locks and lock power supplies. 2) Design software application modules to allow for installation on one personal computer or multiple personal computers and communicate via serial, modem, or LAN/WAN connection to provide flexible configurations and maximum efficiency for system wide processes and controls. 3) Regulated by individuals deemed as system operators. System shall allow operators to simultaneously run multiple Client software modules in multiple supported languages from different locations. Number of concurrently running Client modules is only restricted by Client licensing agreement. 8. System Capabilities a. Battery backup at ACUs of four hours. 9. User Interface a. Design software : 1) WIN-PAK Integrated Security Suite. 2) Existing and owned by the school district. 3) Provide integration support to install new card readers into the existing software platform. 10. Door Identification and Access - a. Provide means to identify each portal or door that is controlled by ACU with unique alpha or numeric description. b. Provide user-defined door relay unlock time – period of time after valid scan when door initially unlocks allowing access before re-locking. Range of door relay unlock time: 2 to 99 seconds, adjustable in 1 second increments. c. Provide user-defined door held open time. Range of door held open time: 2 to 99 seconds, adjustable in 1 second increments. d. Provide for handicap accessibility with specific handicap door timer and handicap door held open settings with same time increments and time range expressed above. Operator shall have option to assign individual, who may require greater amount of time to gain access to door, with handicap accessibility. System shall distinguish cardholder assigned this status and automatically invoke handicap door timer and handicap door held open settings rather than standard door relay unlock and door held open times. e. ACU shall automatically re-lock controlled portal whenever door is sensed as opened and closed regardless of duration of momentary unlock period, or upon expiration of unlock period, whichever shall occur first. f. Provide means of automatically unlocking specified doors during assigned time zone to allow access without use of a card. System shall automatically lock door at conclusion of assigned time zone.
