Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Provide new access control system consisting of all required equipment, conduit, boxes, wiring, connectors, hardware, supports, accessories, software, system programming, etc.,. as necessary for a complete operating system that provides functional intent indicated. B. System Battery Backup: Batteries are to be provided with the racks. C. Surge Protection: 1. Provide surge protection for readers and door strikes/locks. D. Interface with Other Systems: 1. Provide products compatible with other systems requiring interface with access control system. 2. Interface with electrically operated door hardware as specified. a. Capable of locking/unlocking/releasing controlled doors. b. Capable of receiving input from integral door hardware switches. E. Provide products listed, classified, and labeled as suitable for the purpose intended. 1. Access Control Units and Readers: Listed and labeled as complying with UL 294. 2. Provide complete permanent system of cabling and equipment for Access Control System, including cables, conduits and wireways, pull wires, support structures, enclosures, cabinets, hardware including communications, monitoring and alarm output. 3. Include labor, materials, equipment, services and similar items to furnish complete and functional Security Access System. 4. Materials and equipment: New and listed for intended purpose. 5. Installation and Support a. Provide initial setup and programming at time of installation to ensure proper system operation. b. Provide documentation covering installation, operation, and maintenance of system components. c. Contractor shall provide 120 VAC power to point of installation for each system component that requires AC power. 6. System Description a. System Overview 1) Microprocessor controlled interconnected grouping of components consisting of but not limited to: Access Control Units (ACUs), access control software, readers, cards, door locks and lock power supplies. 2) Design software application modules to allow for installation on one personal computer or multiple personal computers and communicate via serial, modem, or LAN/WAN connection to provide flexible configurations and maximum efficiency for system wide processes and controls. 3) Regulated by individuals deemed as system operators. System shall allow operators to simultaneously run multiple Client software modules in multiple supported languages from different locations. Number of concurrently running Client modules is only restricted by Client licensing agreement.
