Specifications include, but are not limited to: Designer shall be responsible for preparation of the necessary designs, plans, and specifications and construction documents to clearly depict all necessary details for the public bidding and construction of the projects described below. 1.1 Survey and Analysis: a. Topographic field survey for existing conditions and topography of the entire project area (as shown), identifying all surface features with elevations and spot grades calculated at all transitions, and topography with one-foot contours prepared in NAD1983 and NAVD1988, with two (2) benchmarks provided for use in construction. b. Flagging of wetlands and inclusion of any recorded resource areas must be included in the survey. c. Include utilities per record documents and, to the extent feasible, field verification of same. d. Identify rim, sump, and inverts for all drainage structures. 1.2 Multi Use Playing Field, Design Development and Preparation of Construction Documents– Improvements to the existing natural turf multi-purpose field shall include: a. Perform forensics to determine existing drainage characteristics of material beneath existing field. b. Analysis, sampling, and testing of subgrade, soils and materials for reuse/amendment. c. Design to include construction access and erosion control associated with new work. d. Design to include accessible route from accessible parking area to new infield, dugouts, and bleachers. (asphalt vs infield mix). e. Design for new standard baseball field with 90-foot base line, and outfield with 250-foot min. distance from home plate. f. New infield design to include: new surfacing and appurtenances, straight backstop, 6’ black vinyl clad chain link fence and gates, covered/fenced lockable dugouts sized for a 24 playersbench with chair accessible space. g. Two 3 tier 21’ length low profile bleachers on concrete pad with accessible chair space. h. Adjusted field design to include removeable foul poles with wings. i. Design of field drainage. j. Assess applicability/feasibility of field netting. k. Coordination of existing utilities and provision for future utility work; see section 1.4 sports lighting. l. Prepare budgetary estimates of construction costs for proposed work with the option to include discrete alternates as needed. m. Restriping and addition of signage for accessible parking. n. Prepare irrigation designs for restoration/upgrade of existing system to include landscape hydrants for maintenance. o. All facilities to meet Massachusetts AAB (Architectural Access Board) requirements and USAB (United States Access Board) guidelines. p. Score board not included.
