Specifications include, but are not limited to: In support of the Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) year-round research and monitoring efforts in the coastal waters of the Commonwealth, we require the services of professional aquatic suppliers to provide supplies, equipment, and services in the following categories; Marine: Purchased goods that are required to operate vessels may include, but are not limited to line, buoys, foul weather gear, oil, marine batteries, other boat parts, trailers. Services include repairs, maintenance, and inspections for all marine equipment used by DMF. Fishing: Purchased goods that are required for shore and or boat based fishing may include, but are not limited to trawl gear, traps, gillnets, fishing mesh, lines and twine, bait, knives, navigational items, safety gear, and electronics used for fishing or fisheries research purposes. Services include repairs, maintenance, and inspection for all fishing equipment used by DMF. Other Field Equipment: Purchased goods that are required to conduct research in marine and estuarine environments may include, but are not limited to temperature/water quality monitors, transects tapes, meter sticks, calipers, other measuring equipment, clipboards, write-in-rain paper, microscopes, scales, and other equipment used in the field. Vessel and Trailer Repairs: The services of professional boatyards are required to repair, maintain, and inspect DMF’s fleet of vessels range from small skiffs to medium sized lobster style boats (approx. 16’-40’+) and vessel trailers. Services may include, but are not limited to general diagnostics and repair, servicing inboards and outboards, re-powers, hauling, removal and replacement of tanks, generators, engines, and other internal components, bottom painting, and other technical troubleshooting.
