Specifications include, but are not limited to:The timber is located in Compartment 9 on Amherst Rd. within the Amherst Watershed Forest, and is owned by Amherst Water. The parcel measures about 15 acres. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the design and construction of proposed bridges to replace the existing bridges, BIN H-12-039 (2WM & 2WN) carrying Interstate I-495 over the Merrimack River in Haverhill, Massachusetts including new foundations, piers, abutments and superstructure elements. The limits of the project extend along Interstate I-495 from approximately Exit 48 to approximately Exit 49. The project consists of the replacement of Interstate I-495 NB/SB bridges over the Merrimack River. The new northbound bridge will accommodate five travel lanes (three thru lanes, one lane is designated for future use and an auxiliary lane). The southbound bridge will accommodate four travel lanes (three thru lanes and one lane is designated for future use). The project will also include complete removal of the existing bridge structures, roadway reconstruction, highway drainage/storm water management features, wetland mitigation, traffic management inclusive of the construction of temporary crossover, temporary median access road, temporary access to river for demolition and construction of substructure, management of work in water and adjacent to river/wetlands, pavement markings and signage, traffic data collection stations, and utility relocation/protection, and all other related bridge and highway work.
