Specifications include, but are not limited to: Professional veterinary services shall be provided to the working dogs of the K-9 Units in the County’s Public Safety Agencies. Additional services to the K-9 Units include screening prospective dogs for training, evaluations of existing dogs, and consultations on dog-related issues. The contractor shall provide all labor, clerical support, furniture, office space, utilities, ancillary equipment, and consumable supplies necessary to provide veterinary services to the Police, Sheriff and other County K-9 Units. The contractor shall ensure at least two veterinarians are available at the facility during normal business hours. The contractor shall develop a process to receive advance notification from public safety personnel of service required for an on-duty dog. The contractor shall provide all services from a location that may reasonably be construed as being in or within a close proximity to Prince George’s County, Maryland.
