Specifications include, but are not limited to: The County Commissioners of Charles County are hereby requesting sealed bids from qualified stream restoration Contractors to perform construction services for the restoration of approximately 1,480 LF of an unnamed tributary in the Potomac River Lower Tidal Watershed (02-14-01-01). The project site is located east of Rock Point Road (MD Route 257) behind Dr. Thomas L. Higdon Elementary School in Charles County, Maryland. The location is as shown on the vicinity map on the Contract Drawings. The primary purpose of this project is to provide stream restoration in an actively eroding channel through the installation of in-stream and bank stabilization structures. The work includes the following: A. Perform construction stakeout; B. Provide and maintain erosion and sediment control, traffic control, and tree protection measures at all times throughout the construction period; C. Excavate, haul, and/or dispose of an estimated 162 cubic yards of unclassified excavation and furnish approximately 191 cubic yards of select borrow as defined by these Special Provisions and Specifications; D. Install in-stream structures; E. Install riprap and slope channel protection; F. Install cover/nurse crop, native floodplain seed mix, and native upland seed mix as well as live stakes, tubelings, shrubs, understory trees, and overstory trees; G. Assist with as-built document preparation; H. Other incidental work as necessary.
