Specifications include, but are not limited to: a) The transcripts must be prepared and returned electronically to the MIA no later than 10 calendar days after the audio files are sent to the Contractor, unless a time extension is granted by MIA. All extension requests must be submitted to the Contract Monitor in writing and approved in writing by the Contract Monitor. b) The MIA has the sole right to reproduce and publish the transcript contents and the Contractor(s) in this case has no right to publish the transcript contents but may reproduce upon request. c) If the Contractor intends to use employees or subcontractors to provide transcription services under this Contract, the Contractor shall ensure that the employee and/or subcontractor providing transcription services maintains a certification from the (a) American Association of Electronic Reporters and Transcribers (AAERT), (b) International Alliance of Professional Reporters and Transcribers (IAPRT), or (c) certification or formal qualification credentials recognized by the Chief Judge of the Maryland Court of Appeals. Further, the Contractor shall at all times be responsible for supervising any employees or subcontractors who are assigned to provide transcription services. The Contractor will be notified of complaints about the service provided by its employees or subcontractors in writing by the Contract Monitor. If MIA notifies the Contractor about complaints regarding the service provided by an employee or subcontractor, the Contractor shall take immediate action to correct the problem and/or reassign the work, as necessary.
