Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this bid proposal is to acquire the services of a trainer who is fully qualified to deliver an approved master presenter ACES training curriculum, such as the ACE Interface Training, to school staff in Maryland Schools. The train-the-trainer model will: Provide school staff with the content and skills needed to present to others in an effort to increase knowledge of the impact of childhood trauma on school-age students. Give staff the opportunity to build content knowledge in the area of ACES through training, coaching, and feedback. Enable staff to apply skills with school staff who may encounter students with signs and symptoms that are consistent with trauma. Present an approved master presenter curriculum for childhood trauma. Share best practices and challenges with curriculum implementation. Provide time to collaborate and plan for curriculum implementation and evaluation. 1. The selected trainers shall: a. Build and maintain a collaborative working relationship with the MSDE’s Section Chief for School Safety and Climate and identified local school system central office staff to coordinate, and deliver training of the approved curriculum in identified regions of the State. b. Use evidence-based ACES training curriculum to deliver a master trainer model to school team staff (i.e., Mental Health Services Coordinators, school safety staff, school administration, and student services staff). c. Develop a schedule in collaboration with the MSDE to deliver training to ensure that all training will be delivered no later than September 30, 2019. d. Collect and summarize evaluations from all trainings conducted. e. Collect and analyze key data points related to training, awareness, and prevention. f. Provide consultation to the MSDE to ensure that training needs are addressed. g. Provide consultation to the MSDE in order to ensure that program implementation needs are addressed.
