Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Assist the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), Division of Special Education/Early Intervention Services (DSE/EIS), Family Support and Dispute Resolution Section, with implementing follow-up activities to ensure that corrective actions required through State complaint investigations and due process hearings are properly implemented; 2. Ensure that proper steps are taken, as necessary, to revise operating procedures to avoid future violations that may result in a denial of a FAPE; 3. Consult with other members of the Branch and Division staff in monitoring the implementation of IDEA and COMAR; and 4. Implement effective monitoring activities and provide leadership and technical support to LSSs in the identification and correction of noncompliance for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities on priority indicators and other areas of interest to the State.
