Specifications include, but are not limited to: Water heater(s) shall be commercial oil model number A.O. Smith COF-455 (A), or equivalent. Heater shall have a minimum oil firing rate of 3.25 gph at 100°F temperature rise, a storage capacity of at least 75 gallons, and a recovery rate of at least 436 gallons /hr. The 160 psi working pressure tank shall be glass-lined with 2 3/4” x 3 3/4” boiler-type hand-hole cleanout. The tank shall be insulated with 2” fiber glass insulation. The outer jacket shall have baked enamel finish. The burner shall be Underwriters’ Laboratories listed and have a one stage oil pump. The burner shall have flame retention, interrupted ignition, and be equipped with primary controls which will provide for 15 second safety shutdown in the event of flame failure. The heater(s) shall be factory equipped with temperature limiting device, drain valve, flame observation port and 180°F adjustable thermostat having upper and lower sensing bulbs which average the water temperatures at the top and bottom of the tank for maximum water temperature control. A CSA Certified and ASME Rated T&P Relief Valve shall be furnished and installed by the factory. Heater tank will be ASME construction, shall have a 3 year limited warranty against corrosion and tank failure due. Fully illustrated factory installation and operational manual. Provide, coordinate, and install all electrical, flue, oil and water piping components and connections as required. Provide and coordinate the removal of the existing hot water heater off site. The Contractor is responsible for all measurements and verification, all State of Maryland DLLR required paperwork, and inspections, and the installation is not complete until the Chief Boiler Inspector issues a Certificate of Inspection. The contractor will submit the proposed hot water heater technical data with pricing, any pricing received without the technical data will be rejected by SMCPS.
