Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide and service dosimeter badges, (activation and deactivation) and dosimeter monitoring. Monitoring includes reading levels of radiation exposure for each badge and provide detailed reports regarding radiation exposure levels. Providing badges and services will be required on a quarterly (three months) basis for a term of four years. a. Provide nuclear dosimeter badges to the SHA on a quarterly year basis (three month badges, four times annually). The badge must be capable of reading a minimum of 1 mRem. These badges will be used to monitor quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) personnel working with SHA’s portable nuclear moisture/density gauges. These badges are required by and must meet Maryland Department of the Environment standards related to COMAR 26.12.01.01. b. Must generate a quarterly invoice report of badges received with a detailed listing of the total badges deactivated and activated with the type of service performed. The report shall be sent to the current SHA Radiation Safety Officer, Mr. George W. Hall III. c. Must generate a report of exposure readings and results of radiation exposure levels shall be forwarded to SHA within three weeks of reading for all badges. d. Badges shall not be charged as unreturned until the second quarterly badge cycle, where the badge has not been returned. e. Activation and deactivation of badges must be completed within a three week period of receiving them from SHA. f. Ability to evaluate and report Dosimeter badge results in mRem (millirem). g. Dosimeter evaluation must be performed by a National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) approved laboratory.
