Specifications include, but are not limited to: Research and conduct detailed analyses of insurer records, transactions and practices related to advertising, sales, underwriting, premium rates, claims and treatment of policyholders with an emphasis on underwriting, claims payment, reinsurance and rating issues; Select and examine random samples of various insurer records using accepted industry standards and criteria for market conduct examinations; Review insurer annual market conduct and financial statements and schedules, escheated funds, and reinsurance treaties; Examine and evaluate insurer rate filings, rating manuals, rate cards, rate classifications, morbidity tables and related actuarial information; Review underwriting tables, files and manuals, premium payments, dividends, reinsurance and related calculations; Understand and interpret insurer policy forms and actuarial memoranda.
