Specifications include, but are not limited to: Purpose of this specification is to describe a loader mounted rotary two-stage diesel engine snow blower attachment. The unit shall be manufacturer’s current model and year with any special tools and equipment included for a fully operational unit at the time of delivery. This unit is to be standard commercial product, which is currently being sold on the commercial market. No prototype or force built unit is acceptable to bid. Design of the attachment shall be in the best engineering practices to permit accessibility for use, maintenance and service. All components and assemblies shall be free of hazardous protrusions, sharp edges, cracks and other elements, which may cause injury to personnel. The primary use of this unit is to clear hard pack windrows, drifting areas and removal of large snow piles and occasional loading of trucks. . These specifications require the doing of everything necessary or proper for, or incidental to the furnishing of said unit. All items of design and equipment not listed in these specifications, but involved in carrying out their intent, are required to be furnished by the bidder, the same as if these items were specifically mentioned and described in these specifications. BLOWER The blower head shall be of a two-stage design with a minimum 44” ribbon and a minimum 44'' inch impeller fan. Ribbon and impeller drive shall be shear pin protected. The design should be such to such that damage from injected objects is minimized. The blower shall physically mount to the loader via an ACS 2000 coupler. CLEARING PATH Clearing width is to be a minimum if 120 inches with an approximate cutting height of 48 inches. The blower shall be capable of attaining a minimum capacity of 2,500 Tons per hour. CASTING DISTANCE Casting distance shall be a minimum of 100' feet. FRAME Shall be bolted and welded construction. The front frame shall be constructed with two (2) 3/8” thick side plates of AR450 steel that hold the ribbon bearings RIBBON AUGER Ribbons shall be 36” in diameter, helical design, and bolt on to center spokes. The ribbon shall be sectional and replaceable. Ribbons shall be formed from ¼” AR450 Steel and serrated for ice cutting. The Spoke assembly shall be made from 3/8” AR450 steel. Spokes shall be gusseted for strength. The entire ribbon auger assembly shall consist of 2 separate halves bolted to a center drive gear box with shear flanges in the center of each ribbon half. The ribbons must be driven by a center gear box. Gear reduction shall be 3.91 in the box with gears exceeding the output of the horsepower and torque by a minimum of 50%. A rubber deflector shall be bolted on to the blower frame, over the ribbon.
