Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Public Health Surveillance services procured through this RFP shall assist the Department with the detection of cancer clusters, analyze mortality and birth data to establish trends and monitor possible public health concerns by assessing, analyzing and reporting on Maine Cancer Registry (MCR) surveillance data and other Data, Research, and Vital Statistics (DRVS) data sources maintained by DRVS, including but not limited to: Vital statistics data and population-based surveys; Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring Survey (PRAMS); and Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey (BRFSS). These Public Health Surveillance services will inform and support research and public health practice to improve outcomes for cancer as well as to provide a more accurate snapshot of the State’s overall public health.
