Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Mobile STEM Lab (MSL) trailer will use state of the art robotic, simulator and VR/AR equipment to deliver critical training in maritime, health sciences, drafting & design, welding, advanced manufacturing and process control, information technology, CNC, robotics, HAZMAT, Automotive and Mathematics test prep. The intended audience is students enrolled at NTCC sites, K-12 school students interested in exploring STEM related careers, incumbent workers and adult learners. The coverage region includes St Tammany, St Helena, Washington, Tangipahoa and Livingston Parishes in southeast Louisiana. The MSL trailer will be designed as a mobile classroom with the ability to easily change out equipment on sturdy, lockable rolling cases/carts. There will be a smart board and seven chairs. Two roadside slide outs will provide expanded class space for simulator equipment. Rear ramp will be used for loading and unloading equipment and for the MSL to be ADA compliant. When extended, a set of rear glass doors will be accessible. Another configuration is for displays and career fairs. In those cases, the chairs will be left off the trailer to allow people to walk through and see all the equipment on display.
