Specifications include, but are not limited to: Disposal to include all infectious waste being transported in a completely enclosed self-regulated container provided by successful vendor as described below which has been properly sealed and labeled. Agency agrees to package all potentially infectious Biomededical Waste (i.e. medical waste) in a manner that prevents exposure to the material.Liquids will be in a sturdy, leak-resistant container. Sharps will be in a closed, rigid, break-resistant, puncture-resistant container. Plastic bags and other containers will be clearly labeled, impervious to moisture, strong enough to prevent tearing or bursting under normal conditions, and closed prior to storage. All of the above to be placed in successful vendor's provided containers for removal from the site.All untreated waste to bear the name and address of the generator (DCI) and/or the transporter (successful vendor)when it leaves the generator's premises. All treated waste that is still recognizable to carry a supplemental label to specify the treatment method used (i.e. autoclaving), the date of treatment, and the name or initials of the person responsible for treatment. All labels to be clearly visibleand legible, and to be water resistant.All waste is to be properly identified and manifested by an employee of DCI and by the successful vendor before removal. Manifest to include site specific information to DCI, type of treatment (i.e. autoclaving or incineration) and name of landfill waste will be disposed at. Vendor to provide all label(s)/manifest(s) for each container. Copies of label(s)/manifest(s) to be provided to agency to be kept on file.
