Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project shall include furnishing all labor, equipment, and all other incidentals required for emergency repairs to a levee system located in the Bayou Black community. The purpose of this project shall be to rehabilitate the existing levee with on-sight and owner supplied borrow material. This contract shall involve de-grassing, scarifying, and re-grading an existing levee section before placing Owner supplied material. All work shall be performed per the direction of the Engineer. All earthen material shall be delivered to stockpile locations provided by the Owner. This Contract shall only include: spreading and placing material. It is anticipated that approximately 60,000 cubic yards (vehicle measurement) of material may be delivered to the stockpile. The Contractor shall be responsible for establishing and maintaining hauling routes from the stockpile locations throughout the duration of this Contract. Materials: All earthen materials supplied by the owner for use on this project will consist of clay soils meeting the requirements to be classified as CH or CL per the uniform classification for earthen embankments. The contractor shall be responsible for placing, shaping, and handling of the owner supplied material onto the levee section. All material shall be dumped along the levee so that the Contractor will be able to move, spread, and shape material directly onto the levee with earth moving equipment. Site Access: The contractor shall be provided access points by the Owner. The Contractor shall be responsible for securing and closing all access gates located along at the access routes for the duration of this project. Vegetated Wetlands: The contractor shall be responsible for repairing any damage to vegetated wetlands that are located outside the limits of construction that are damaged by the negligence of the contractor. The contractor shall also be held financially responsible for any mitigation and/or consultant costs from permitting and regulatory coordination that occur due to wetland damages outside the limits of construction.
