Specifications include, but are not limited to: the slide area will be stripped to rock to remove the threat of more sliding, and an approximately 100’ long, 15’ wide safety bench to catch any additional falling debris will be excavated into the hillside approximately 12’ above the elevation of the house. These approximate areas are marked on the planview. Any large rocks remaining in the slide area should be removed during excavation. Based on a cross section made from Lidar data, the slide is approximately 200’ long at its longest and 100’ wide at its midpoint, and based on an estimated 5’ depth to rock throughout, there appears to be about 4200 cubic yards of material to be moved (including the amount for the excavated safety bench). Two closed portals have been covered by the slide and may be reopened during excavation. If so, the re-opened portals must be closed using standard non-wildlife accessible closures.
