Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Bolen Slide HP AML Reclamation Project is located in central Perry County, within Hazard City limits. GPS coordinates: 37* 15' 15”N 83*10'35"W. Directions are: from main street in Hazard take Memorial Dr. to Hwy 1762/ L.O. Davis Dr. Continue for 1 mile and turn right onto Sunvalley Terrace. Continue for .4 miles and driveway will be visible as well as slide. Waste Area is located at coordinates N 37° 18’ 14.27”, W 83° 07’ 21.43”. To reach the waste area from the site travel back down the mountain and turn right onto Memorial Drive and follow Hwy 550 toward Bulan, at Bulan turn right on KY 1146/Hardburly Rd. and take this to Mexico Rd. The waste area access entrance is just past the Mexico Rd. entrance. It has been previously disturbed by mining. Slide (Site Area) The slide is currently threatening the Bolen residence with some mud and debris against the home begin removed on Phase I. Project design will construct a gabion retaining wall at the toe of slide to shore up slope and area below roadway with the removal of addition material to accommodate gabion wall. 18” HDPE pipes, headwall and drop boxes are to be install to address drainage issues along with Class II stone for construction of ditches and armor of outlet of pipes. A concrete ditch rectangular has been added for drainage on steep slope from roadway. Landscape Allowance to replace in kind any disturbed items. Flat Concrete work to replace in kind any disturbed concrete driveway. Straw Bales, Silt fence is proposed for proper silt control for project. No trees 3” dia or greater will be removed except for the slide/unstable area. Waste Area Hardburly Enhancement Reclamation Project 2 will be used for material disposal. The site has been used for several AML projects and is currently the designated waste area for two sites Mize Drainage AML and Raymond Combs AML.
