Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department will install outdoor fitness equipment at Preston Miller Park, 2303 Tomblinson Way, Bowling Green, KY 42101). The objective is to have an outdoor fitness area that will serve the community of Bowling Green with a unique fitness option. Preston Miller Park is a premier park within the BGPR system. This 55 acre park is home to the Russell Sims Aquatic Center (which attracts over 70,000 patrons yearly), as well as a one-mile asphalt running/walking path, asphalt basketball court, and disc golf course. In addition, current construction is nearly complete on a four-field Bermuda grass soccer complex, “The Premier Grounds at Preston Miller”, sure to increase visitors exponentially. This playground will reflect BGPR’s commitment to ensuring recreational opportunities that are exceptional throughout our community. Possibilities in designs are not limited, however the evaluation team reserves the right to select or refuse any proposal based on the established criteria. The proposed designs should contain equipment that encourages activity, imagination, social interaction, physical fitness, climbing, and most of all, be an area that can deliver a quality fitness option. BGPR estimates that the space measures approximately 50’ x 60’ with another 15’x15’ adjacent. This area may offer some size variations as needed. BGPR is most interested in equipment that creatively uses the provided space. BGPR does require multiple pieces of fitness equipment that have adaptive capabilities so that individuals with physical challenges will have a fitness option as well. 1. The submitted price shall include all materials including surfacing as well as special tools, delivery of all materials, installation, maintenance kits, inspection manuals, field inspections, and letters certifying compliance. 2. Installation shall be included as noted on individual park specification pages, and installers must have a Certified Playground Safety Inspector on staff. Installers must be factory certified for equipment being installed. Installer will be responsible for surfacing, edging/borders, and the fitness equipment being fully installed.
