Specifications include, but are not limited to: Kentucky State University faces a critical shortage of office, laboratory, and classroom space due to the closure of Atwood Research Facility and the addition of approximately 50 employees and 25 graduate students to the Kentucky State University (KSU) Land Grant Program. This project requires architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil and structural consulting services for the Renovation of Hunter Hall (a former dormitory) on the main campus of the University. This renovation is a complete alteration of the existing building, with significant changes to the site and building to modify the functional use of the building. Hunter Hall, an older dormitory directly next to the Atwood Research Facility, will be renovated to accommodate the housing of faculty, staff, and students. This building will be updated externally and internally to provide new spaces for office and classroom/meeting space, as well as electrical, plumbing, and HVAC updates. The addition of an elevator to the building is be considered as part of the initial feasibility study for the project. The building currently does not have an elevator although it has 4 floors. To provide pedestrian access between the Atwood Research Facility and Hunter Hall, a covered walk way will be constructed between the two buildings.
