Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Furnish and install a Black decorative mast-arm poles and signal system to meet KYTC design specifications at two intersections on KY 18 in Burlington, KY. KY 18 at Rogers Ln and KY 18 at KY 338 (Jefferson Street). a. See Attachment B for desired pole locations. b. See Attachment C for approval to install traffic signal at KY 18 @ KY 338 and related Traffic Signal Checklist. c. See Attachment E for examples of a black mast-arm pole. B. Signals must also have the ability to be controlled by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department with a Stop and Go Switch. C. Provide site plans, striping plans, maintenance of traffic and signal plans for both intersections in KYTC format and specifications. D. Submit all plans and permit applications to KYTC District 6 Traffic/Permits Office for approval. E. Coordinate with all local utility companies with facilities in the area to ensure no conflicts are encountered. Pole placement should avoid underground and overhead utilities. F. Upgrade all curb ramps at both intersections to ADA/KYTC specifications with detectable warnings if needed. The southwest corner of KY 18 and Rogers Lane will be reconstructed to ADA standards with the Burlington Commons project. G. No Right of Way or easement acquisitions should be needed. Please avoid having to acquire Right of Way. H. Remove any unnecessary equipment including but not limited to: wooden signal/utility poles with approval by Duke Energy. Existing or outdated signal equipment including signal heads, pedestrian heads, cabinets, etc. Utility poles owned by Duke Energy that carry electric service are to remain and are not to be disturbed. I. Remove stop signs at KY 18 & KY 338. Contractor can disposed of the old stop signs. Remove and reinstall street name signs at the intersections where appropriate and approved by KYTC District 6 and Boone County. J. Obtain any other necessary permits as needed.
