Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Ambient Air Monitoring Shelter. Field laboratory shelter with external dimensions: 12’L x 8’W x 8’H. Shelter construction and design must incorporate LEED principles and strategies to reduce energy usage. The shelter will be used to house ambient air monitoring equipment installed in instrumentation racks. Additional ambient air monitoring equipment may be placed on the roof top; therefore, the shelter roof exterior shall be designed to mount equipment and support personnel traffic. Floor plan and roof deck layout to be finalized after the award. Design specifications shall meet or exceed the following: a) Interior Floor: • Minimum design load 120 lbs. per square foot uniformly distributed or 3000 lbs. concentrated over any 3 square foot area. • Flooring shall be slip resistant. • Exhaust manifold shall be mounted on the floor. b) Interior: • Insulation in walls, ceiling, and floor shall be R-25 equivalent. • Interior walls shall be finished reinforced fiberglass panel. • Control room area shall be 12’ x 8’. • Shelter shall include cylinder bracket for safe storage of three compressed gas cylinders (placement will be discussed after the award is finalized). • Shelter shall include watertight roof penetrations, 2” ID with flange and cap (placement will be discussed after the award is finalized). (2 total). • Shelter shall include watertight sidewall penetration for ambient gas sample lines and two penetrations for miscellaneous needs (placement will be discussed after the award is finalized). • Shelter shall include a workstation with 30” high desktop that is moisture and scratch resistant (placement will be discussed after the award is finalized). c) Exterior: • Shelter exterior shall have aluminum exterior skin, dark gray in color. • Exterior shall include skid base with fork-lift lifting points. • All fasteners shall be rust-proof. • Access door to the shelter shall be constructed of metal. Door shall include hydraulic door closer, weather stripping, door drip, door threshold, and commercial grade handle with lock. Door shall be 36 inches wide. d) Roof: • Minimum design load 60 lbs. per square foot uniformly distributed or 500 lbs. over any 3 square foot area. • Roof shall include walking surface that is slip resistant, covering 12'x8' area. • Must include aluminum modular roof railing system that meets OSHA specifications. Railing system must surround 12'x8' roof area with toe-plate. Railing system will be removable for ease of transport. e) Roof Access: • Vertical ladder with anti-climb protection shall be installed on the shelter. The ladder placement and the opening in the guard rail will be discussed after the award is finalized.
