Specifications include, but are not limited to: Bid specifications include removing the existing sign and base, installing new concrete footings, walls, cap, sand fill, rock base, and replacing and installing limestone posts, 6x6 cedar posts, and sign boards. Large rock to original base with be 12”x12” minimum and will be compacted. Crushed concrete will be acceptable as the large rock fill. All concrete mix will be no less than 6 sack 10% rock. The concrete cap will be stamped to mimic the look of rock. Colored concrete will be used on the 8” concrete walls, 6” cap, and 2” concrete fill around limestone and cedar post to finish out the rocked look. Color and stamped pattern will be selected by area manager. A concrete sealer will be used on all exposed concrete. The top of the concrete cap must be a 12” above road level. In the concrete footing, rebar will be placed 12”x12”. Five rows of horizontal rebar will be placed in the 8” concrete walls. Rebar uprights will be placed in the footing to connect the footings to the walls at no more than 48” apart. The 6” concrete top will have rebar placed 12”x12”. All rebar must be ½” and spliced a minimum of 16”. All rebar connections will be secured with wire ties. The void between the concrete walls will be filled with fill sand and compacted. Existing 2x10 sign boards will be reused for the project. Sign boards will be reinstalled after the concrete work is complete. Four limestone posts will be provided and installed by the contractor. Two 6”x6”x8’ cedar posts will be provided and installed by contractor. Limestone post and 6”x6” rough cedar post must be approved by area manager prior to installation. See the attached scan for plan specifications. A site visit with the area manager is required before submitting a bid. Dig Safe must be called prior to starting any work on the project. All work must be completed within 90 days of being awarded the bid.
