Specifications include, but are not limited to: 7. Unpaved Alley Restoration. Disturbed areas on drivable Right-of-Way shall have 95% compaction. The surface shall be restored using crushed concrete or rock containing up to 50% crushed asphalt (RAP). 1” aggregate may also be used. 8. Removed Manhole Castings. For manholes removed, manholes abandoned or for frame and cover replacements, the old manhole castings shall be salvaged, cleaned and delivered to the Sewer Maintenance yard at 715 W. Harry, Wichita, KS. 9. Flow of Sewage: The Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining continuous flow of sewage through the construction site at all times. The Contractor’s proposed method for maintaining sewage flow shall be approved by the Engineer. Cost of maintaining flow of sewage through construction will not be paid for directly and this cost shall be considered subsidiary to the project. 10. Sewer Service Interruption: No building is to be without sewer service for more than 24 hours, and coordination of the same with the property owner is the contractor’s responsibility. 11. Damage to Existing Structures: If damaged during construction, existing manholes, sewer lines and other appurtenances to remain in service shall be repaired to original condition without additional payment 12. Subsidiary Costs: All costs for removal of observation holes shall be subsidiary to the price bid for sewer pipe removed.
