Specifications include, but are not limited to: Manhole Rehabilitation 1. Substrate Preparation Specifications: Contractor shall submit specifications, deemed enforceable by the City of Hays through your submission, covering all necessary preparation work required for your manhole rehabilitation technique. This should include removal of all loose material, debris, oil and grease and any other substance preventing proper adhesion, at a minimum. Additional preparation, such as acid etching, must be spelled out in these specifications. 2. Material application technique specifications: Contractor shall submit specifications, deemed enforceable by the City of Hays through your submission, covering the proper application of the material(s) to be installed. Items to be covered include, but are not limited to, temperature, surface moisture, equipment necessary for application, personal protective equipment to be used by applicators, instructions for proper storage and mixing of materials prior their usage and other relevant information. Final installation shall be suitable for very low pH conditions and provide reinforcement of the existing manholes. The following types of materials are acceptable based on the contractor’s condition assessment of each manhole to include the pH. 1. Lining of manholes with a minimum 1-inch thickness of the following cementitious materials with no subsequent top coating is allowed: The Strong Company, Inc. High Performance Mix Korneos SewperCoat PG Korneos SewperCoat 2000 HS Or equivalent 100% pure fused calcium aluminate cement with fiber reinforcement.
