Specifications include, but are not limited to: a) Provide one properly trained and certified, in accordance with applicable state and local laws, rules and regulations, security guard within the Rock River Rapids Aquatic Park during Park business hours, normally from 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday through Sunday. Provided security guards shall be unarmed, without a weapon or taser of any kind, and dressed in a company uniform clearly identifying them as security personnel and not police officers of the City of Derby, Kansas and/or other area law enforcement agencies. b) Ensure that each assigned security guard has completed an orientation process with Derby Police Department and Rock River Rapids Aquatic Park staff prior to commencing their first tour of duty. The orientation process should be scheduled ahead of time through the Derby Police Department and will require attendance at a mandatory training session at Rock River Rapids on May 24, 2020 from Noon to 2 p.m. and May 30, 2021 from Noon to 2 p.m. All security guards working Rock River Rapids will have to attend the training session each year. No security guard may be assigned to Rock River Rapids without having participated in an orientation session. If a security guard is hired or assigned after the dates for orientation, it will be the responsibility of the company to schedule an orientation session through the Community Education Coordinator at the Derby Police Department prior to the guard working at Rock River Rapids. c) Ensure that the assigned security guard will refrain from personal use of a cell phone while on duty. d) The provided security guard will observe and regularly tour (at least once during each business hour) the parking area serving the Rock River Rapids Aquatic Park, and will escort the manager to the bank at the end of each day. e) Notify appropriate first responders/emergency personnel/law enforcement, including the Derby Police and/or Fire Departments, of any accident and/or criminal activity observed by and/or reported to the security guard occurring at the Rock River Rapids Aquatic Park by dialing 911 at the first available opportunity to do so unless RRR Park staff has already made such notification. f) Provide a company supervisor to visit the site no less than five (5) times per week. During each visit, the supervisor shall make personal contact with the Rock River Rapids Aquatic Park manager to ensure adequate security measures are in place. g) No services will be required on days or times when the Rock River Rapids Aquatic Park is closed for any reason, including inclement weather. No hourly rate or other contract amount will be paid for the successful proposer’s provision of services not required in this Statement of Work and Derby will not pay any amount for any services or time(s) when Rock River Rapids Aquatic Park is closed for any reason, including inclement weather. h) Provide a weekly schedule of security guards to the Rock River Rapids Aquatic Park and the Derby Police Department Community Education Coordinator no later than each Friday.
