Specifications include, but are not limited to: The company will provide services from the startup until candidate is hired, e.g. organize the search process, meet with stakeholders, analyze needs, recruit a candidate pool, and help evaluate, interview, & facilitate appointment. Kansas State University expects the awarded vendor to fulfill the following duties: A. Organize the Search Process: 1. Assist in structuring the overall process 2. Perform within the parameters of the charge to the search committee by the Provost and Executive Vice President 3. Develop web-based communication tools 4. Draft correspondence as needed for all phases of the search 5. Maintain and control search records, including candidate credentials, in compliance with State of Kansas records retention policies B. Analyze Organizational Needs and Provide Assessment and Recommendations: Interview the Provost and search committee chair to understand the culture and position requirements, and the attributes of leadership that will be required of successful candidates. 1. Review hiring institution’s publications and reports used in recruitment process 2. Work with the search committee chair to finalize the position description and announcement 3. Assist in developing a comprehensive website which will include an institutional profile and feature specific information about Kansas State University, the university’s governance structure, the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Manhattan, KS community. C. Recruit a Strong and Inclusive Candidate Pool: Identify a broad and diverse group of candidates with the desired attributes and experience. 1. Develop national advertising strategy 2. Provide national nominations source list 3. Follow up with nominated candidates 4. Directly recruit highly qualified candidates, including non-conventional candidates 5. Assist in meeting or exceeding affirmative action/equal opportunity expectations D. Evaluate Candidate List: In conjunction with the search committee, the consultant will evaluate the pool and begin to narrow the focus onto the strongest candidates. 1. Identify the top candidates 2. Begin reference checks at the appropriate time E. Interview and Committee Recommendations: 1. Conduct preliminary (confidential) interviews in conjunction with the search committee 2. Interview one or more finalists 3. Recommend process for gathering feedback from all who meet the on-campus interviewees 4. Maintain contact with finalists to gauge and enhance their interest in the position 5. Develop committee recommendations to the Provost and Executive Vice President according to initial charge.
