Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Recruitment, screening, and training of adult volunteers that are committed to working with youth in the juvenile court system. 2. Accepting referrals from JCS staff in Union, Clarke, & Madison counties or other entities as approved by the Decat Coordinator for families with youth in need of a mentor. 3. Matching mentors and mentees and supervising each match. 4. Providing support and community resource referrals to participating families to help improve and strengthen their lives. 5. Providing support, training and networking opportunities to mentors. 6. Planning and conducting group activities for mentors, mentees and the community. 7. Demonstrating an increase in youth's attendance and homework completion with the support from the mentoring. 8. Developing and executing fundraising and public relations activities or events to ensure sustainability. 9. Maintaining certification from the Iowa Mentoring Partnership as a local, quality youth mentoring program that follows the guidelines of the Iowa Mentoring Partnership.
