Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Currently, wastewater treatment at the City of Davenport Water Pollution Control Plant consists of influent pumping, grit removal, primary clarification, and activated sludge aeration followed by secondary clarification. Primary and waste activated sludge are cothickened in the gravity thickeners, stabilized in anaerobic digesters, dewatered on belt filter presses, and mixed in yard waste in OWNER’s composting facilities. 2. Wastewater treatment during construction must be continuous and the treatment efficiency must be equal to that achieved prior to the start of construction. 3. It shall be the responsibility of CONTRACTOR to not in any way impair the normal treatment or operating efficiency of the facilities, regardless of the work underway. No bypassing of raw or partially treated wastewater to receiving stream shall occur at any time as a result of construction. In general, this requires that new facilities be complete and ready for service or that temporary facilities be provided prior to removing existing units from service for modification or repair. CONTRACTOR shall provide all temporary piping, bypass pumping, and temporary construction required to complete the Work.
