Specifications include, but are not limited to: a.Student Room Vanities: i.Contractor to disconnect plumbing and remove 240 vanity sink tops. Vanity tops and faucets are to be saved and re-installed. Contractor may coordinate with Owner and Other Contractors to store the vanity tops inside each room while other work is being completed. ii.Contractor to remove and dispose of 240 existing vanity base cabinets, being careful not to damage adjacent surfaces and to preserve plumbing components inside or running through the vanities. This includes removing all fasteners from the walls located behind the vanities. iii.Contractor to install 240 Owner provided vanity base cabinets prior to vanity sink top installation. New vanity cabinets will be supplied by Iowa Prison Industries. Replacement vanity cabinets have been ordered at a custom size to match the dimensions of the vanities that were removed. iv.Contractor to reinstall the existing 240 vanity sink tops. Work includes connecting the water and drain lines, and verifying the p-trap is not leaking in each location. Contractor to replace p-traps as needed. b.Metal blinds and blind blocks:i.After the painting contractor has completed their Work, Contractor to examine 320 blinds and blind blocks on the windows in the student rooms and common areas. Contractor to ensure the blinds and blind blocks are secure, and installed into the correct locations where blinds are special sizes or specifically handled. ii.Owner will provide Contractor locations for blinds to be replaced (non-functional or more than two bent or broken slats). Contractor to install owner-provided replacement blinds in these locations. Owner estimates 35 blinds will be replaced throughout the building. iii.Contractor to ensure the existing wood blind blocks are secure, utilizing Loctite PL 200 construction adhesive or equivalent and wood screws as needed. Owner estimates 20 blind blocks will be secured. c.White boards and bulletin boards:i.Contractor to remove 38 white boards and 23 bulletin boards from hallways and common areas of the building, and load into an Owner provided trailer. ii.Contractor to install Owner provided glass white boards (20) and acoustical wall panels (16) in hallways and common areas. The glass white boards are 4 ft. x 6 ft., and the acoustical panels are 4 ft. x 8 ft. iii.Owner to provide fasteners and anchors needed for this work. Contractor is responsible for verifying Owner-provided fasteners and anchors are sufficient for wall materials prior to Owner procurement.
