Specifications include, but are not limited to: Spec #13 Install a 30-inch-deep by sump jar with an airtight seal, with drain and viewing window. Install in the low spot of the left front corner of the basement. Over dig the jar hole by about 6 inches all the way around the new sumps. Install a 3” floor drain in the area of the sump jar to discharge into the sump jar. Fill the area around the sump jar and around the tile with clean gravel. Drill ½ holes in the sump jar to allow water in. Start the holes about 15 inches above the bottom. Replace the concrete floor and finish smooth. Install a 1/2 HP sump pump with backflow valve and discharge to the exterior near grade level through the foundation wall. Discharge at grade as far from the house as possible onto a splash block. Install a 3” floor drain in the area of the steps that will discharge into the sump jar. Install a battery backup sump pump, with manufacturer required deep cycle battery, per manufacturer’s instructions at 2,000 GPH minimum at 10’ discharge height. Install with backflow valves. Install a 1½-inch air admittance valve near the ceiling to vent the sealed sump jar. Remove the flooring along the perimeter walls (front and left side wall, approximately 10 ‘.) Remove the soil to about 12 inches deep and install 3-inch drain tile to be discharged in to the sump pit. Fill area around the tile with clean gravel, concrete to be level with the existing floor. Spec #15 Remove the weeds from the window wells and dig out the dirt so it is a minimum of 6” below the bottom of the window. Install new window well covers.
