Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Work of the Project includes provide and construct a 60’x 100’ post-frame storage building at Kankakee Fish and Wildlife service area in Starke County. The work includes constructing postframe storage building including foundation (as BASE BID), and constructing concrete slab floor, concrete aprons and electrical (ALTERNATES). Electrical work shall be connected to existing source of electricity as directed by Owner. B. Additionally work of the Project includes: removing marked trees and roots that are located in storage building footprint, removing and reinstalling / reconfiguring part of the existing fence only if necessary for storage building construction. Furnish and install new if required. A. 60’W x 100’L x 16’H post-frame storage building. B. Siding: .019” (26 gauge) Galvalume steel; 29 gauge Galvalume steel siding acceptable ONLY when hot-rolled 80,000 psi minimum tensile strength steel is used. - Siding color selected by owner from manufacturer’s standard colors. - Siding fasteners: stainless steel screws. C. Gable roof: metal ribbed roof shall be Galvalume steel minimum 24 gauge, fastened with stainless steel screws. (If 26 gauge is used, Contractor shall provide calculation to prove that the roof can withstand uplift according to Indiana Building Code). - Slope 4 to 12. - Roof color selected by owner from manufacturer’s standard colors. - Interior of roof to be insulated. Moisture protection layer shall be included under metal roof. - Roof overhang should be 1’on all four sides, vented on long sides, non-vented at the end walls. - Include a functional ridge vent. - Furnish and install 5” gutters on two sides with six 3”x4” downspouts. D. Doors: three (3) commercial overhead insulated doors, dimensions 16’W x 14’H located at the center of the walls (see site plan for location). Base bid to include manual chain hoists. E. Doors: two (2) commercial insulated steel pedestrian doors 3’W x 6’8”H; without windows, doorknobs or locksets (locksets will be provided by owner). Locate as required by code and as directed by Owner. F. Provide commercial-grade operator (ALTERNATE #1) with two (2) remote controls per door and one (1) interior keypad opener per each overhead door (in lieu of manual chain hoists). G. Wood posts shall be fastened to a precast concrete columns set on a concrete footer poured below the frost line (4’ minimum). Minimum dimension of footers shall be sized with assumed Foundation Strength for loose sand 1500 pounds per square foot. H. Interior concrete slab shall be 6” thick, with welded steel wire fabric 6x6 W2.1/W2.1, sheets only (Welded Wire Fabric: ASTM A1064). Concrete reinforcement ASTM A615 Grade 60. The interior slab shall be turned down 2’ deep at the perimeter of the building. Provide expansion/construction joints to meet ACI Standards. Expansion joint filler: preformed, low absorptive, closed cell rubber, ½” thick, cover by sealant. Provide Vapor Barrier under slab. Vapor Barrier shall have all the following qualities; Permeance of less than 0.01 Perms as tested in accordance with ASTM E1745 Section 7.1; Strength ASTM E 1745 Class A; Thickness of 10 mils minimum. I. Install 3” thick by 2’ wide rigid insulation (Extruded-Polystyrene Board Insulation ASTM C578 Type IV, 25 psi) around perimeter of the building.
