Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) is pleased to announce the Resiliency in Community After Stress and Trauma (ReCAST): Community Resilience Institute RFP. The Community Resilience Institute is an entity that will provide training, coaching and technical support to enhance evidence-based, trauma-informed behavioral health and support services in Chicago communities, with a focus on communities that have survived long standing stress and trauma. The goal of ReCAST Chicago is to promote resilience and health equity in at-risk youth and their families that have unaddressed exposure to community wide trauma and civil unrest. In 2015, CDPH was awarded the first of five $1M annual awards from the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). ReCAST Chicago is charged with strategically co-building (with community leaders), a multi-pronged intervention to prevent, interrupt and aid in the recovery from trauma inducing stressors in high need communities.
