Specifications include, but are not limited to: Demonstrates successful professional leadership development of program participants who have become principals in CPS. Demonstrates the capacity to recruit highly qualified Program candidates who: 1. are able to demonstrate high level of experience in at least two of the five Competencies through previous school based leadership experiences, 2. have a data-informed need for leadership development and a Residency to improve his/her leadership practice, and 3. will be highly recommended by his/her Principal, Chief, or District Leader to participate in the program. E. Uses a research-based focus on developing aspiring principals in a large urban setting, and is research-based F. Tailors programming and coaching to meet the specific professional development needs of the participants and a model to prepare and provide individualized leadership development plans for participants entering the Residency G. Demonstrates content expertise which will ensure participants learn the importance and practice of; 1. academic and social – emotional needs of students, including Diverse Learners, English language learners, and sub-groups which are inclusive of equitable practices for all students, 2. community engagement and political mapping with context that reflects best practices of highly effective urban leadership, 3. continuous cycle of school improvement, and 4. reflective and distributive leadership.
