Specifications include, but are not limited to: The intent of this RFP is to hire an emergency siren contractor to provide full design and installation services for this project as described in ‘Section 1.2’. Please review the specifications (Attachment B) for a complete description of the siren system. Respondents may elaborate or add to the proposed scope of work to ensure comprehensive project delivery. Any additional work items identified should be clarified in the response. Task 1 – Siren Site Investigation and Evaluation The siren contractor (Contractor) shall perform all required investigatory and mapping work necessary to determine the proposed sites. Minimally work shall include: 1. Review and evaluate the existing siren sites to determine optimal locations for new sirens. 2. Conduct acoustical mapping with calculations to finalize siren sites. 3. Investigate, compare and recommend new and/or retrofitted locations, and installation type. 4. Verify the availability of electrical power required for siren operation. 5. Prepare a written report summarizing the investigation findings and the recommended solutions. Task 2 – Construction Documents Following completion of Task 1, the Contractor shall prepare Construction Documents detailing the removal and installation of sirens at each location. The Construction Documents shall minimally include: 1. Preparation of installation drawings and details for each siren site, including, but not limited to, electrical drawings and siren specifications. Contractor shall meet or exceed the specified rotating, unidirectional, electromechanical siren (see Attachment B). 2. Submission of permit applications and associated documents as required to all applicable regulatory agencies. The Contractor shall make any/all adjustments required by the regulatory agencies and shall obtain all required construction permits for each siren site prior to proceeding with installation. 3. Preparation of ComEd applications for any siren site(s) where new power service is required.
