Specifications include, but are not limited to: Complete a thorough structural inspection of the entire structure, focusing on the exterior conditions. Identify damages to the structure caused by the weather, pedestrian access, vandalism, or simply age. Provide a detailed field report which describes all exterior damages to be addressed. 2.Review all as-built and record drawings of the tomb structure. Become familiar with the original design plans and structural changes constructed over the years. Interview employees, both current and retired, regarding water leaks, cracks, noises, vibrations, or any other defects which were not intended in the original design. 3.Provide a structural assessment and recommendation on the viability of allowing pedestrian accesstotheupperdeckofLincoln’stomb.Thisassessmentshallconsiderpotentialdamagestothe water-proof membrane, the granite walkways, the ornate statues, and the structural stability of the stone railings around the perimeter of the upper deck. This assessment shall also address the adequacy of security and safety lighting around the monument. (This scope assumes that pedestrian access to the upper deck will be possible since the upper deck was originally designed for pedestrian access; however, at what cost will it take to accomplish and be compliant with current safety codes and requirements.)
