Specifications include, but are not limited to: Remove and dispose of concrete pads on rear of the house where new pads are to be placed. New pads are to be sloped from the house to the yard. The slope is to be as close as possible to a 1/4 inch per foot. Prepare a 3" gravel base over a uniformly graded & compacted sub grade. Form and pour 4000 psi air entrained concrete, 4" thick pads. Provide #10 welded wire mesh or reinforcement fibers added into the concrete at the batch plant in dosages of 1.5 pounds per cubic yard and are dispersed throughout the entire load of concrete. Expansion joints are to be placed at equal intervals or as need to control possible cracking. All control joints to be tooled or cut into concrete at a minimum depth of one fourth the thickness of the slab. Asphalt or other approved expansion joint material is to be used between new and existing concrete also where pads meets the house. The finish should be a broom finish surface that directs water away from the slab. Cure with spray able membrane and remove forms. Black dirt is to be added along pads so grade matches top of concrete. Dirt is to be feathered five feet from structure and concrete so there is positive drainage. Grade lawn where disturbed by the installation of concrete and seed disturbed areas. Repair any asphalt that is disturbed during demolition and installation of new pads. A. Remove existing pads at rear of house. B. Change grade so as water will run away from the house. This may require removal of existing dirt to create drainage. C. New slab may need to have a step to make grade work. D. Where concrete meets the house shall be caulked with a Polyurethane Self-Leveling Sealant. E. Pad location and fall is to be approved by the Construction Officer and homeowner before placement of concrete.
