Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University is using Pentaho as part of an institution-wide deployment of a Business Intelligence solution to allow greater and easier access to University data by users across various functional offices on campus. The University has also developed a data warehouse for use with the BI tool. Pentaho provides Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) tools, which are a necessary component of the total BI solution. We have over 1,000 Pentaho Report Designer (PRD) reports published on the Pentaho server accessed by users campus wide. We use the ETL tool to extract data from various data sources, transform the data into meaningful information and load the data into a data warehouse. We have created a library of around 200 scheduled ETL Jobs to handle daily system processing for our warehouse. We also use the ETL tool to extract data from various sources to use within our production z/OS processes. As we continue to implement our ERP solution, we will use this tool to extract historical data from the mainframe to present within the warehouse for reporting purposes.
