Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Prevention of and protection against fire, theft, vandalism, burglaries, unauthorized entries to the school property, and other irregularities. 2. Conduct security checks of all buildings, parking lots, roadways, accessible classroom doors, grounds, entrance gates, perimeter fencing, and building gates as directed by office/school administrator. 3. Direct unauthorized persons to leave the premises and/or call the respective County’s Police Department. 4. Upon reporting for service at the School or Office, SO shall help and provide advice to School/Office administrators on any security matters such as best security practices to deter criminal trespassing, theft, burglary, mischief, etc., if requested. 5. SOs shall report for duty at the requesting school/office at the agreed upon date and time. 6. SOs shall be properly dressed in company’s guard uniform while on duty. 7. SOs shall be unarmed. 8. Where services require the division of time between multiple buildings, floors, rooms, etc., SOs shall be equipped with walkie-talkies, cell phones, or other such communication device(s) to enable the SO to contact other SOs or personnel immediately in cases when emergency assistance is required. 9. SOs shall maintain watch in the assigned locations for any type of disturbance. 10. SOs shall be vigilant, alert, and available to assist STATE personnel when other individuals are being hostile, abusive, or disorderly, or if they appear drug-addicted, drunk, mentally or emotionally unstable, criminal, and/or armed.
