Specifications include, but are not limited to: Replacement of existing laboratory casework with new laboratory grade casework and replacement of existing countertops and sinks with epoxy resin laboratory countertops and sinks. Demolition • Fully remove existing laboratory casework and countertops diagramed in attachments A - E. • Contractor is responsible for disconnecting all adjoining plumbing and electrical fixtures and any other attachments as necessary. • Contractor will be responsible for disposing of construction debris. Casework • Order and deliver to 2725 Waimano Home Road new casework, countertops, and required plumbing fixtures as described in the specifications. o Note: Attachments A – E are only an estimate of the size of the existing casework. The contractor is responsible for confirming the size of the existing casework and to ensure that the replacement casework is of similar size, with the same number and size of plumbing, electrical, gas, and any other connections. • Preparation: Prior to installation of casework, contractor will check and verify that no irregularities exist that could affect quality of execution of the work specified. • Coordination: Contractor will coordinate with the State Laboratories Division Building Manager if there is to be any interruptions of utility services for mechanical, plumbing, electrical, gas connections and other work. • Contractor will be responsible for disconnecting and reconnecting utilities (electrical, water, gas) as appropriate. • Performance: o Set casework components plumb, square, and straight with no distortion and securely anchor to building structure. Shim as required using concealed shims. o Bolt continuous cabinets together with joints flush, tight and uniform, and with alignment of adjacent units within 1 /16" tolerance. • Secure wall cabinets to solid supporting material, not to plaster, lath or gypsum board. • Abut top edge surfaces in one true plane. Provide flush joints not to exceed 1/8".
