Specifications include, but are not limited to: HDOA is seeking to fund one project that will deliver quantifiable/measurable outcomes to develop a Hawaii agriculture invasive species and import replacement communication initiative (HIAGPESTCOM19). To achieve this goal, the HDOA announces the availability of up to $90,000 in program funds for one project to develop Hawaii agriculture invasive species and import replacement communication initiative (HIAGPESTCOM19). The successful proposal shall include a project that outlines: • Specific goals and objectives • Responsible agencies and partners • Capacity needs • Recommended regulatory changes • Required infrastructure • An overall timeline and pricing budget for implementation. • The plan must address measures and action steps under the following broad categories: • Collaborate – work with agricultural industry(ies) and/or organization(s) to develop agricultural background/stories with relation to invasive species issues and import replacement. • Develop – create communications package that highlights local agriculture biosecurity issues that are being faced island wide. • Engage – provide outreach to local farmers, ranchers, and communities statewide with educational and informative biosecurity stories in effort to increase public awareness.
