Specifications include, but are not limited to: The work to be performed under this contract consists of, but is not limited to, managing the veterinary care for animals in custody of Animal Control, managing and performing spay/neuter surgery, managing and performing the rabies vaccination program, assisting with cruelty/neglect investigations, training Animal Control staff on best practices in shelter medicine and maintaining Animal Control records according to the SOW detailed herein. 1. weekly high‐volume spay/neuter surgery of dogs and cats; 2. coordination of the shelter medical program in collaboration with the Division Manager of Glynn County Animal Control; 3. provision of any recommendations for disposition from assessment of temperament and physical condition of animals in writing on Animal Control forms; 4. provision of veterinarian consultation service to staff for the proper care of animals in accordance with best practices as supported by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians (https://www.sheltervet.org); 5. provision of rabies vaccination administrative services; 6. provision of assistance and reports related to animal cruelty investigations; 7. provision of records retention and reporting services; and 8. provision of other veterinary-related services as contingencies arise.
