Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.1 Areas to be maintained are to include any entrance and exit roads including any fire hydrants and utility poles or fixtures. 1.2 Mow all turf areas on a weekly basis. Mow to a maximum height of 3 inches and a minimum height of 2 inches. The specific mowing days shall be agreed upon between the contractor and the Contract Technical Representative. 1.3 Edging of all sidewalks, curbs, drives and paved areas will be done every other week. Edging height is to be equal to mowing height. 1.4 Trim all turf areas weekly in those areas inaccessible to mowers so as to present a well groomed appearance. Trimming height is to be equal to mowing height. Any fence lines with irrigated turf under it shall be trimmed weekly. Barricades, light poles and fire hydrants may be trimmed or chemically treated (i.e. round up). If so treated, treatment shall extend no more than six (6) inches on any side of the structure and the area shall be mulched with pine straw. 1.5 Contractor shall over seed with annual rye grass between October 15 and October 30 or on dates specified by the Contract Technical Representative. Contractor shall use 4 ½ 50 pound bags of Midway perennial rye seed or provide a full stand of rye grass. 1.6 Year round removal and disposal of general debris from grounds shall be done weekly. Debris shall include but not be limited to fallen limbs and trash. In the event of suspected illegal dumping of materials on grounds, the contractor shall notify the Contract Technical Representative for further instructions. 1.7 In the event of excessive leaf fall, the contractor shall be responsible for collection of and disposal of leaves. At no time shall leaves remain in a pile on the grounds after the contractor is finished for the current workday. 1.8 Prior to mowing, the grounds are to be policed in order to remove loose trash and debris. The contractor shall be responsible for the cleanup of any trash cut up by mowers. All grass clippings and debris from mowers shall be cleared from walk areas, parking areas, curbing and paved areas after completion of mowing, trimming and edging operations. Cleaning methods suitable for clippings are blowing, brooming, vacuuming or raking.
